NACFB Commercial Broker Awards 2024 - judges revealed

The full judging panel for the NACFB Commercial Broker Awards 2024 has been revealed. Entries for the awards closed last month, with a record-breaking 290 submissions received across 17 categories. The independent judging panel, composed of industry experts selected for their specialist knowledge, will be evaluating submissions to help select the winning and highly commended entries.

This year’s full judging panel is:

  • David Newcombe – Managing Director - Commercial Lending, Paragon Bank

  • David Raw – Managing Director of Commercial Finance, UK Finance

  • Edward Peck – Founder, Asset Finance Connect

  • Gaynor Dykes – Senior Manager of Guarantee & Wholesale Solutions, British Business Bank

  • Jessica Bird – Managing Editor, The Intermediary

  • Josh Harris – Founder & CEO, Doc2

  • Lee Tillcock – Managing Editor, Business Moneyfacts

  • Mark Blackwell – Chief Operating Officer, Core Logic

  • Martin McTague – National Chair, Federation of Small Businesses (FSB)

  • Matt Davies – Director of Commercial Finance, UK Finance

  • Mike Conroy – Director of Commercial Finance, UK Finance

  • Nick Baker – Chief Commercial Officer, Allica Bank

  • Prof. Marc Cowling – Professor of Economics and Productivity, Oxford Brookes University

  • Prof. Trevor Williams – Economist, University of Derby

  • Ray Cohen – Director, Jackson Cohen Associates

  • Simon Goldie – Director of Advocacy, Finance and Leasing Association (FLA)

  • Stephen Johnson – Managing Director, 9Y Capital

  • Stephen Todd – Chief Commercial Officer & Cofounder, VAS

  • Theo Hadjimichael – Chief Executive, Responsible Finance

  • Tom Simpson – Managing Director, YBS Commercial Mortgages

Drawing on their specific expertise, each judge is assigned a maximum of three categories to judge and asked to select their top choices for each.

When assessing entries, judges will be looking for demonstrable evidence of broking excellence in each category. The same criteria were given to Members who chose to submit an entry.

The final shortlist, derived from the judges’ choices will be announced later this month. NACFB lender Patrons and supplier Partners will also be invited to vote on the shortlist alongside the judges to select final winners. 

Early bird tickets for NACFB Members are currently available priced at a discounted rate of £105 +VAT each until mid-July, after which the price rises to £190 +VAT. Tickets for NACFB Patrons and Partners will be available from mid-July at £210 +VAT each.
