Drawing on their specific expertise and skills, each judge was assigned two or three of the 15 categories and asked to choose their top three entries for each so that the shortlist could be determined.

When assessing entries, the judges sought evidence of broking excellence regardless of the size of firm. In particular, they looked at where a broker had applied innovative structuring on a complex or difficult deal alongside taking into consideration the impact on the client’s business, the lender-broker dynamic, and the ability to get a deal over the line. The same criteria were given to Members who chose to submit an entry.

The shortlist will be announced on Friday 12th August at which point NACFB Patrons will be invited to vote for their preferred entrants in each category. The winning entries will be determined by combining the Patron votes with the judges’ selection and the winners will be revealed at a special awards ceremony on Friday 23rd September at Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Birmingham.
